About UBWA

A Registry for Equine's Used for Sport, Recreation & Breeding in WA

Welcome to UNITED BREEDS of WA Inc. (UBWA), which is a registry for equines used for sport, recreation and breeding in WA.

For members to own and breed the type of horse that they like without being bound to the restrictions of closed registries.

Our horse breeders association is a not for profit helping the equestrian community in performance, breeding, judging and many other aspects of the industry.

Sporthorse Registry Categories

General - Divided by height (hot-blooded): TB, Arab, Stock, Riding Pony, finer pony breeds down to Miniature.

  • Sport Horse Registry (over 14.2hh)
  • Sport Pony Registry (10.2-14.2hh)
  • Sport Small Pony Registry (under 10.2)

Other Sporthorse Registry Categories

Divided into breed types.

  • Warmblood
  • Western
  • Cob/Draft
  • Standardbred

Colour Registry Categories

Must carry the correct colour code genetics may be determined by parentage.

  • Buckskin
  • Dun
  • Palomino
  • Cremello/Perlino
  • Champagne
  • Silver
  • Broken Coloured Dilute (Tobiano, Overo or Sabino/Splash and a recognised dilute colour gene).

Working With Excellence

Breed Show Judging

UBWA Inc. Breed Classes are judged as a working/ performance horse regardless of breed, type, size, colour etc.

Colour Registry Classes are judged the same with a separate class we’re only colour is judged.

Judges cannot be friends/family of competitors, judge horses they have bred, nor can the competitor be a client/customer of the judge.

United Breeds of WA Inc is a quality equestrian association that holds horse breed shows and ridden events, initially incorporated in 1978 with many changes it is now an open registry for Sporthorse and Colour Registrations and one membership covers all. We are a ‘not for profit’ organisation dedicated to giving you a service second to none in Western Australia.
